My name is Janis Lanz and I am 41 years old with three kids. When I was younger, I had dreams of a loving, supportive husband and kids. I actually wanted to be a stay at home mom and take care of my family. I was a financial consultant with Waddell & Reed before getting married. Thirteen years and three kids later, I found myself legally separated from a verbally abusive husband and I needed to find work. But, I had one “problem”. I loved taking care of my kids and they needed me at home. My oldest was born with CHARGE Syndrome, which is a group of birth defects that affected his vision, immune system, swallowing, growth hormone, and he is deaf. With the regular doctor visits and school meetings for his education, there would be no way I could keep a job. My middle son is ADD and needs a lot of extra attention. I also have a younger daughter who is precious.

As most of you know, part-time work is hard to find and part-time work from home is even harder, so I begin to look on the internet for something I could do that would not involve travel or going to meetings. I had to be home. I found Work at Home United, a wonderful team of parents who were all working from home and loving it. They partner with a company called Melaleuca, Inc. Now, I was really skeptical about home businesses: I had tried two other businesses with well-known companies in the past and failed miserably at both.

I actually lost money. This time I didn’t have a penny to lose. I was going to be living on a little child support and some nice alimony that would last only 5 years.

Melaleuca provided me some BIG benefits. They provided life-changing products that would help my kids be healthier. That is THE reason I decided to join the company. After using the products for over 2 years, I started noticing that my oldest son was not sick as much and, most importantly, he didn’t need as many antiobiotics. And, for him, this was huge. He was always on antiobiotics for sinus infections or pneumonia. Right before I found Melaleuca, my middle son was diagnosed with ADD and doctors and the school wanted to put him on medication. I tried Adderall for one month and Concerta for one month. Hated both of them; they didn’t work at all. I have since put him on Melaleuca high-absorption vitamins and supplements and for the past 2 years, he is doing great in school and is catching up. I also got rid of all the store products in my home that contained toxic chemicals, which can aggrevate ADD. I became passionate about educating people on the dangers of toxic chemicals in the household and personal care products they use in their homes. Even cosmetics have some dangerous chemicals in them.

I am earning extra money that actually provides a huge benefit to my family now because I get to stay at home even though I am a single parent. Anyone who is looking at a home business and is skeptical, like I was, needs to really keep an open mind and thoroughly research the company they are interested in. I really believe that most people give up too soon. There are ways out there for someone to be able to provide for their families. All you have to do is decide to take action and believe in yourself. Tell yourself that you are going to make it work and stick with it for the duration. You should not lose money and you should not have to borrow money for large investments to get started. Success comes in many forms. For me, I am successful. I am still at home with my kids. I was able to buy a house and I am covering all my bills. My kids have everything they need and I know as long as I keep working, I will be more successful because I will be home with them.
